Responsibilities

The Patrick County Office of Economic Development is a department of the County government. The office is responsible for assisting existing businesses, attracting new industry, and various other community-oriented projects, including retail attraction, marketing, and community improvement. The office works directly for the Board of Supervisors and closely with the Economic Development Authority.

Starting a Business

Starting a business is very exciting, but it can also be quite challenging and overwhelming at times. There are several resources that can be utilized to help with the process as you formulate your business plan. If you are considering the Town of Stuart as a location for your business, be sure to contact the Town of Stuart at 276-694-3811 to determine any requirements, such as a Town Business License, signage, and/or zoning questions within the Town limits. Patrick County does not have zoning and does not require a business license.
