High Water Bill?
Check to see if you have a a leaking/dripping faucet or toilet? You would be surprised to know how much water usage is added to your monthly bill by that dripping faucet or leaking toilet. Your toilet is leaking if you hear it filling between flushes, if you cannot hear it running between flushes it could still be leaking, here is how to check it. Place a dye tablet or 10 drops of food coloring into the tank that houses the float and filler valve, if color appears in the toilet bowl after 10 minutes your toilet is leaking. Make the necessary repair and reduce that water bill next month.
If you suspect a water leak in your service line between the PSA meter and your house, look for obvious signs, persistent wet areas in your yard. You can call the PSA and request a technician come out and inspect the PSA meter to determine if a leak is present. Please note, a service charge may be applied to your bill for leak investigations performed by the PSA.
If you have leak, please report them to the PSA as quickly as possible, as you may be eligible for a leak adjustment on your bill.
Don't wait until you receive your bill to find out how much that leak is actually costing you because you may be very surprised ("What's That Leak Costing Me?" [PDF]), be proactive and make the repair today.
- The PCPSA office will be closed Monday, January 19th in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.
