Clerk of Court

Responsibilities

The Clerk of Court is the custodian of county records, including land documents, wills, probate records, marriages, and genealogical records. They also process passports, file and process divorces, land disputes, lawsuits, issue marriage licenses, and process concealed weapon permits. Additionally, they serve as the Administrator for the Circuit Court, issuance of jury and subpoena summons, prepare and record court orders, and process paperwork to other state agencies.

Land Records

Effective July 1st, 2017, this office offers secure remote access to land records for a fee of $50 per month to be paid 6 months in advance (i.e. 6 months is $300 or 1 year is $600).
